This is yet another Loop poetry. Though this was created by Hellon, I was introduced to it by none other than Raji..
Rules of loop poetry are very simple and as follows:
There are no restrictions on the number of stanzas nor on the syllable count for each line. In each stanza, the last word of the first line becomes the first word of line two, last word of line 2 becomes the first word of line 3, last word of line 3 becomes the first word of line 4. This is followed for each stanza. The rhyme scheme is abcb.
Variations:
1. Stanzas, writers choice on the number, no rhyming, the last word, first word scheme is maintained.
2. One long stanza, no limit on number of lines, no rhyming scheme, the last word, first word scheme is maintained.
3. Couplets mixed with 4 line stanzas, the last word, first word scheme is maintained in the stanzas. It can also be used in the couplets. Rhyme scheme is ab, cc, defg, hh, ii, jklm, nn, oo.
So here’s my loop poetry for the day.. I wrote it on my way from office..
~*~
An Evening Of Life….
Cloudy pleasant Evening…
Evening spent travelling..
Travelling through narrow roads..
Roads filled with traffic..
Traffic that seems unmoving..
Unmoving to fast pace of the city..
City that never does sleep…
Sleep, the only thing that eludes me..
Me a crazy insane character..
Character who has a fetish for poetry…
Poetry the best way to set myself free..
Free to soar like a bird..
Bird of desires and dreams..
Dreams make up my life..
Life that’s unpredictable..

(Undead)Poet / Wizard / Teller-of-tales
aaww..thanks TIM
and yes i did completely enjoy visiting you blog.. will try to be as regular as possible 🙂
Thanks for the comment over at Undead Poets Society. I really enjoy this. Loops were introduced to me in 2005 by a guy who also demanded the pen never leave the page when writing these. Because of it, my notebooks look a mess. I like how there’s something about loops that feels almost like a sestina to me. Anyway, thanks. And don’t credit me, please credit Tim Keeton @UndeadPoets for the fib/cleave. All I did was reverse one of the fibs.
thanks Geoff for stopping by..
FIBS and ReverSe FIBS are new to me..
it wud be great if either of you could elaborate on its technique.. maybe iu could try one someday 😉
Very Nice — like the a city that does not sleep, sleep eludes me –congrats on winning the Perfect Poet Award…. thank you also for stopping in….

aaww..thank you soo much dear BKM…
glad to know you liked them 🙂
I have read this style before from one of mine and William’s member’s on “Billy’s World of Poetry.” But this is the first time I have seen anyone write this style since we closed the poetry site last year. I liked this style very much, and yours was a pleasure to read. Very well done Megzone. I do love your new way of writing, you have tone it down a lot and your poetry is so nice to read. Very much enjoyable.
hey thanks Vi..
i have already done coupla poems in the LOOP form.. after a loong time i picked it up again.. and yes with this form i do end up toning down on the vocab of the poems 🙂
dunno why but thats how it ends up being.. and im glad to know you liked it 🙂

I love this form Megzone 🙂
Congrats on winning the Perfect Poet Award, well done 🙂
thank you very much dear 🙂
I’d never heard of the loop before now, but it looks real neat. The repetition works to give the poem a strong rhythm. You really capture the evening commute. I like how the poem strays from the examination of the surroundings to abstract musings by the speaker much like my mind on my drive home.
Also, thanks for the kind words on my poem 🙂
heyyy…thank you very much..
to me the LOOP poetry is the easiest form of poetry.. and its like a chain.. it can go on and on and on.. unless you decide to stop at a point.. 🙂
thank you soo much for liking it 🙂
Great one, Megz. Through this scheme you’ve created a very powerful chain of moving thought and feeling. cheerios 🙂
hey thanks Adam:)
it kinda does go on like a chain reaction.. u need to put an end to it..
