Day 7 A-Z challenge, G = Gratitude
~::~ Gratitude ~::~
When everything in life seems blue
Nothing works how you want it to
Take a deep breath, believe it true
Just say thank you, just say thank you
When you’re lost without a clue
Empty life, escorted with rue
Picture yourself, where you’d want to
Just Say Thank you, just say thank you
Depression’s cup overflows through
Feelings seems totally askew
Trust in your heart, you’ll come anew
Just say thank you, just say thank you
It begins with your attitude
Breaking free from life’s Servitude
Thanks multiply in magnitude
It’s gratitude, its gratitude

Monotetra – The monotetra is a new poetic form developed by Michael Walker. Each stanza contains four lines in monorhyme. Each line is in tetrameter (four metrical feet) for a total of eight syllables. For more insight into this form you could check this site.
Shouldn’t the line “When you’re lost without a clue” be “When you are lost without a clue” in order to get the 8 syllables? “You’re” is one syllable. I could get the beat when I changed that in my head.
I like the format. Will have to try it in one of mine before Z!

Thank you dear Donna! point noted – having the internet lingo for most of the terms where you are becomes you’re become u r and ensuring that doesnt affect my poetry has been some effort! Shall be changed 🙂 and yes please do try the form, I love the rhythm that the last line in each para creates! thanks fr dropping by! 🙂
I really liked the poem’s theme of using gratitude to conquer depression and feelings of confusion. Nicely done! 🙂
