Day 3 of A-Z challenge, C= Chandler/Clerihew

~::~ Chandler ~::~

Dear Mr. Chandler

Was not a clever handler

With sarcasm as his Twin

Arguments he tried to win

Alas he lost himself to Monica

A Clerihew is a comic verse consisting of two couplets and a specific rhyming scheme, aabb invented by Edmund Clerihew Bentley (1875-1956). For more details on Clerihew kindly check out this link.

Back again with a new form of poetry and after a long time for a MEME too 😀

Clerihews have just a few simple rules:

  1. They are four lines long.
  2. The first and second lines rhyme with each other, and the third and fourth lines rhyme with each other.
  3. The first line names a person, and the second line ends with something that rhymes with the name of the person.
  4. A clerihew should be funny.

I saw today, Miss Claire

Who had very little hair

Looked like an old toady

Wrinkly and moldy
