Time passes soon.. yes indeed it felt just like yesterday when the year 2010 started and now its october already..

October-November, a time when Autumn sets in and the trees are left bereft..

and my poem today for the rally is an Acrostic on Autumn (thanks Leo for the prompt and the encouragement 🙂 )

Under blue sky

Tumbling down trees

Unfair harsh breeze

Myriad hues lost

~::~ Two Little Girls ~::~

Lizzy and Missy two little girls

1blond 1 brunette, both with curls

Sisters them, playing in the slush

Muddy dresses, Mommy asked them to rush

“Look at yourselves, dresses dirty, unkempt hair”

Got them all cleaned, fresh clothes to wear

“Now you are grounded for days to come”

Hearing these words poor girl became numb

“You are ought not to go out and play

Inside the house I need you to stay”

“Help me around the house with chores”

Their puppy –eyed look, mommy ignores

“Here’s a pack of wool, you shall work on

Only when it’s done, shall your punishment be withdrawn”

Now little Lizzy and Missy sat on a stool

Busy sorting out red balls of wool

Lost in lingo-universe

My mind’s as blank as slate

Wonder wats happening off late

The poetry that flowed freely once

Seems to be mocking at me askance

No words no rhymes no fire

Even pics fail to inspire

I cry alone craving for words

They fly around like scornful birds

I hope I wish these shadows lift

And once again my poetic boat’s adrift

What an irony of my life

Just to be another’s wife

Umpteen tests undertaken

So that identities aint mistaken

Every one that comes in front

Impolite and outright blunt

Moment they lay eyes on me

Flock my patio hopping in glee

Unabashed youth here none

 I still await my perfect one

Wonder how many more kisses to blow

Till I find my one, who would show

His Princely-ness, Chivalry and candor

My perfect knight in shining armor..

When shall thou come O prince..?

When shall my true love win..?

People think I am a freak

Wondering what chaos I shall wreak

Seeing me they want to gag

Just cos I am dressed in rag

Shamelessly begging for alms

Cupping my blistered palms

Destitute, I have no home

Throughout the day I roam

Western, central and harbor line

But when I board people whine

I sit there staring at passing sights

Sunset, sunrise and dim street lights

Mountains, bridges, concrete jungles

Pass by, as a prayer my lip burbles

Alone I look for a place to rest and sleep

Full with crowds and fests, slowly my feet creep

Full of suspicion, characteristic dereliction

Life has been nothing but a malediction

Tirade and anger seething in every heart

Almighty resides in the fancy trinket mart

Going gets tough but seldom do I look askance

Survival is my goal, paltry is my chance

Don’t know where I started

My life seems thwarted

Don’t know where this would end

Striving for a livelihood, I defend

No I am not a propitious reveler

Rather just a footboard traveler

For words I’m floundering

The beat takes a rhythm

Slowly gathers pace

The chaotic mind

Also on a plane

A journey they begin

A collage of pictures

Captured by time

A feeling of overwhelming

My Soul bursts apart

Scattered into smithereens

Every particle depicts me

The person that I am

My soul my essence

Even my shadow in its presence

As if a movie rewinds

And plays again

Over and over in my heart

A fluttering of wings

A butterfly tickles

Some flowers bloom

Couple smiles captured

In my memory

Some corner of my brain

Thursday Poets Rally ~ An Evening Of Life..!!

This is yet another Loop poetry. Though this was created by Hellon, I was introduced to it by none other than Raji..

Rules of loop poetry are very simple and as follows:

There are no restrictions on the number of stanzas nor on the syllable count for each line. In each stanza, the last word of the first line becomes the first word of line two, last word of line 2 becomes the first word of line 3, last word of line 3 becomes the first word of line 4. This is followed for each stanza. The rhyme scheme is abcb.

Variations:

1. Stanzas, writers choice on the number, no rhyming, the last word, first word scheme is maintained.

2. One long stanza, no limit on number of lines, no rhyming scheme, the last word, first word scheme is maintained.

3. Couplets mixed with 4 line stanzas, the last word, first word scheme is maintained in the stanzas. It can also be used in the couplets. Rhyme scheme is ab, cc, defg, hh, ii, jklm, nn, oo.

So here’s my loop poetry for the day.. I wrote it on my way from office..

Travelling through narrow roads..

Roads filled with traffic..

Traffic that seems unmoving..

Unmoving to fast pace of the city..

City that never does sleep…

Sleep, the only thing that eludes me..

Me a crazy insane character..

Character who has a fetish for poetry…

Poetry the best way to set myself free..

Free to soar like a bird..

Bird of desires and dreams..

Dreams make up my life..

Life that’s unpredictable..
