Haiku – Haiku (also called nature or seasonal haiku) is an unrhymed Japanese verse consisting of three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables (5, 7, 5) or 17 syllables in all. Oh benign opulent castle

With all your magical frazzle

You stand there tall and strong

Hogwarts, where I truly belong

 

Mystical creatures enchanting

Dungeons, towers, classes charming

Deep forests, dark lake, sprawling lawns

Hogwarts, where I truly belong

 

Transfiguration, runes and spells

Charms, defense, potions and their smells

Sometimes alright, sometimes all wrong

Yet Hogwarts is where I belong

 

Friends, enemies, quarrels and games

An intense loyalty inflames 

Every dream, I have dreamed upon

Kyrielle-  Kyrielle is a French form of rhyming poetry written in quatrains (a stanza consisting of 4 lines), and each quatrain contains a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the poem consists of only eight syllables. There is no limit to the amount of stanzas a Kyrielle may have, but three is considered the accepted minimum. Empty life, escorted with rue

Picture yourself, where you’d want to

Depression’s cup overflows through

Feelings seems totally askew

Trust in your heart, you’ll come anew

It begins with your attitude

Breaking free from life’s Servitude

Thanks multiply in magnitude

Monotetra – The monotetra is a new poetic form developed by Michael Walker. Each stanza contains four lines in monorhyme. Each line is in tetrameter (four metrical feet) for a total of eight syllables. For more insight into this form you could check this site.

I dream a dream in rosy hues

Of sunkissed cheeks and glassy dews

Chirping cicadas and humming bees

Of fragrant lavender and tulip blues

 

Of silken stirrings in lake azure

Of waiting by aromatic moors

Dreamy eyes awaiting your arrival

I dream a dream in rosy hues

 

Of your presence, our hushed schmooze

Of letting the world around, silently diffuse

Of intertwined fingers & butterfly touches

I dream a dream in rosy hues

 

Of melting souls intimately fused

Of heightened spirits and love suffused

Of mingling scents and interlaced bodies

I dream a dream in rosy hues

 

 I dream a dream in rosy hues

Of you, our love and heathery dunes

Of entwined fingers and twiddly toes

Lost for eternity while zephyr blows
