What an irony of my life

Just to be another’s wife

Umpteen tests undertaken

So that identities aint mistaken

Every one that comes in front

Impolite and outright blunt

Moment they lay eyes on me

Flock my patio hopping in glee

Unabashed youth here none

 I still await my perfect one

Wonder how many more kisses to blow

Till I find my one, who would show

His Princely-ness, Chivalry and candor

My perfect knight in shining armor..

When shall thou come O prince..?

When shall my true love win..?

This time i am super-excited cos i am trying my hand at something different.. no this is not a new form of poetry but rather a complete different genre that i am trying…

so i hope you guys like it 🙂

~::~ Footboard traveller ~::~

People think I am a freak

Wondering what chaos I shall wreak

Seeing me they want to gag

Just cos I am dressed in rag

Shamelessly begging for alms

Cupping my blistered palms

Destitute, I have no home

Throughout the day I roam

Western, central and harbor line

But when I board people whine

I sit there staring at passing sights

Sunset, sunrise and dim street lights

Mountains, bridges, concrete jungles

Pass by, as a prayer my lip burbles

Alone I look for a place to rest and sleep

Full with crowds and fests, slowly my feet creep

Full of suspicion, characteristic dereliction

Life has been nothing but a malediction

Tirade and anger seething in every heart

Almighty resides in the fancy trinket mart

Going gets tough but seldom do I look askance

Survival is my goal, paltry is my chance

Don’t know where I started

My life seems thwarted

Don’t know where this would end

Striving for a livelihood, I defend

No I am not a propitious reveler

Rather just a footboard traveler

Deep dark woods

Without any hoods

I trudge along

It’s where I belong..

.

Scent of aromatic herbs

Silence! Nothing perturbs

Peculiar chirpy crickets

Freshly blossomed rose thickets…

.

Swirling gloomy thick mist

Uncanny eeriness exists

Mermaids swimming in mid-lake

Ambling around duck & drake…

.

Foliage of multi-hued flowers

Tall shady tree towers

Leprechauns scurrying around

Spirits soaring unbound..

.

Shadowy creeping sun beams

Glistening water streams

Ambience infused magic spells

Fairies hidden in blue-bells…

.

Land of enchantments

Centaurs play portents

Charms & beauty, this realm adorns

My abode of magical creatures & unicorns…

Every droplet lingers

Dripping between fingers

Wind whistling like singers

Dark clouds play harbingers.. Dark clouds play harbingers…

 .

Heart aches and yearns

Throbbing pain returns

Like a storm it churns

But my mind spurns… But my mind spurns

 .

Raindrops tickle my skin

Slipping down my chin

Lips flaunt a grin

A roaring sting within… A roaring sting within..

 .

My hurt I suppress

Without much success

No matter how much I digress

Life’s a mess.. Life’s a mess…

 .

Under darkened skies

There exist no lies

Silently sobbing eyes

Pain reprise.. Pain reprise

My heart makes a confession

You’ve become an obsession

Planning to sleep

On my bed I lay

But thoughts of you

Sweep me away

Even in my dreams

I feel your presence

Wake up lucidly

To the rupture immense

My heart makes a confession

You’ve become an obsession

Staring at the ceiling

See the fan spin by

Try to catch up on winks

That defies my balmy eyes

I check the time

The clock struck three

Clasped my eyelids tight 

Yet you don’t leave me

My heart makes a confession

You’ve become an obsession

 .

Every minute, every second

You are on my mind

No matter how hard I try

They simply don’t unbind

Leaves me pining

Chasm in my heart

Every effort futile

Till soul tears apart

I have tried and lost

Don’t fight them anymore

They come & swathe me

Like waves hit the shore

Slowly erode back

So here we go..

Princess our darling Raji is known for her awes-inspiring jaw-hanging nerve-wrecking art at shape poetry..

Raji is a very dear friend and fellow blogger… She inspires me with her poetry and encourages and motivates me to continouosly re-invent my style and my poetry… Hence in many ways I call her my teacher/guru/mentor…

But today.. she has compelled me to commit suicide… her latest offering of Shape Poetry rendered me and my mind useless…… 😦

So if at all you guys  find my body.. do blame it on RAJI…. 😀

oh well I tried to create a noose.. I wonder if it looks like one… 😦

I hope you guys do realize now why I am committing suicide..

I cant ever match her shaping skills… 😥

Sigh..!!! I am DEAD… 😦

Now i think we need to start a DEAD POETS RALLY also 😈

there are some awards that i need to accept and award which will take a complete dedicated post tomorrow..

This week for the Rally i have come up with a different form of poetry….

Mini-monoverse

The Mini-monoverse is a poetry form originated by Emily Romano.  Each Mini-monoverse is

made up of two stanzas of five three-syllable lines.  They rhyme scheme is a/a/a/a/a for the first

stanza and b/b/b/b/b for the second stanza.  For a double Mini-monoverse just add two more

stanzas.  They rhyme scheme for the third stanza should be  c/c/c/c/c and for the fourth stanza,

d/d/d/d/d.  It is desirable that the Mini-monoverse tell a story, but this is not a hard and fast rule.
