Its been a long sabbatical away from all the prompts and poetry writing..

It had seemed my mind had completely blanked out from all writings and poetry..

Words seemed to have forgetten their way into my head and on my blogs..

But now I am trying to get back on track with writing and more poetry..

Happy New Year folks..

OK i knw i have been a little late on this 😦

but m happy that i have managed to make it  in time atleast 😕

This year i have promised to be as regular and loyal to my blogs and the various prompts that i have been doing… And esp to Jingle for introducing a whole new world of poetry to me.. I shall always be grateful to her for discovering me and yes will try to be as regular on the Poets Rally as I can .. and this is one promise I definitely intend keeping up…

I also intend to take up as many new forms of poetry as I can and practice all the old ones too 🙂

So for this week’s rally I present a new form (atleast new to me) Etheree

Etheree

The poetry form, Etheree, consists of 10 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 syllables.  Etheree can also be reversed and written 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.  Get creative and write an Etheree with more than one verse, but follow suit with an inverted syllable count.

Reversed Etheree:  10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Double Etheree:  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10, 9, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Lost

In thoughts

Stirring slow

Mixing crystals

My notions mellow

Tensions dissolve away

The nectar graces my throat

Feeling of warmth spreads across me

I bite into some sugar cookies

After all its me time – my tea time. Bliss!

As time goes by I head back to my seat

Work sucking me in like a twister

My head spins, I amble around

Marching forth like a soldier

Fallen, struck but not gone

I retaliate

Fight at all costs

But burn out

Craving

I am super duper late and almost on the verge of hitting the deadline 😦

but Ji has been superduper-sweet and a complete Angel and has been very considerate and accomodating in accepting my late entry into the Thursday Poets Rally 33

I never wanted to be away but some recent developments had me travelling for over a week.. Leo was kind enough to let me schedule all my poems so i dont miss much on his Z-A in 26 days and thankfully he dint mind me putting haikus, naisaikus and acrostics continuously and that only eased my entries there..

but Thursday Rally has been really special for me.. Cos Ji if you hadnt discovered me i dont think i would have improved so much as a POET (if i can call myself one) with so much exposure to other poets and memes 😀

and hence every poem for the rally is a special composition and this one again is no different..

Time passes soon.. yes indeed it felt just like yesterday when the year 2010 started and now its october already..

October-November, a time when Autumn sets in and the trees are left bereft..

and my poem today for the rally is an Acrostic on Autumn (thanks Leo for the prompt and the encouragement 🙂 )

A single line of verse

Lost in lingo-universe

My mind’s as blank as slate

Wonder wats happening off late

The poetry that flowed freely once

Seems to be mocking at me askance

No words no rhymes no fire

Even pics fail to inspire

I cry alone craving for words

They fly around like scornful birds

I hope I wish these shadows lift

And once again my poetic boat’s adrift
